Gonçalo Grade Monteiro has been the Fiscal Attaché at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union since 2020, following, among others, the direct taxation and digital taxation files. From 2017 to 2020, he was a legal advisor to the Portuguese Minister of Finance.

He is a fully qualified lawyer admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association (currently voluntarily suspended due to the exercise of his current functions), having worked, from 2012 to 2017, mainly on Tax and Business Law.

He holds a Law degree from the University of Lisbon – School of Law and a Master’s in Enterprise Law from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, with a thesis in Tax Law focusing on direct taxation in the digital economy.
